Bodhi walks upstairs, hand in hand with Galen. Kyber trots along with them, stopping every now and then to try to clean the melting snow off his fur.

"Inside, little one. I'll dry you off." As soon as he gets out of his wet boots.

"See, Kyber, we're almost home!" Galen adds. Cats aren't very good at delayed gratification, let alone kittens, or juveniles like Kyber, who wants the cold wet gone away RIGHT NOW.

Bodhi lets them in and kisses Galen as they cross the threshold. Because it feels right.

He slips off his boots and grabs a towel, sitting down on the floor next to Kyber's basket to dry the kitten off. The effect is one very fluffy creature with his fur sticking out all over the place. "There, is that better?"

Granted, Bodhi isn't much better in wet socks and his hair all lank and damp.

So Galen comes with another towel, once he has kicked off his own shoes, and starts towelling Bodhi's hair.

Bodhi laughs and reaches up to remove to tie that keeps it pulled back. "Mutual grooming. But done worry too much. I plan to get you naked and into a bath as soon as Kyber's dry.

Kyber who is indignantly trying to tame his ruffled fur.

Galen doesn't worry; he just smiles and reaches out to pull off Bodhi's sock.

"Your feet are icy!"

"Really? I stopped feeling them a while ago." he tucks the towel around Kyber and leans over to kiss Galen. "Clearly I need better boots for the winter here. Mine are good for cold but not wet."

"Obviously," Galen says, now leaning forward to rub Bodhi's feet with the towel. "We'll get you really warm boots that keep your feet dry, high enough so no snow gets in at the top."

Bodhi huffs as his feet start to tingle back to life. "We might all need new winter clothes. If it's going to be like this for a while."

He reaches down to still Galen's hands. "Let's just head for the bath. We'll warm up soon enough."

He gets Galen to give him a hand up, his feet still tingling. "So, is the snow like what you remember?"

Galen stands, pulls up Bodhi from the floor, picks up their discarded socks, and follows him to the bathroom. "Yes, exactly. Not much snow yet, though. If it stays cold and keeps snowing, it can really pile up. High boots are a bit futile, admittedly, when the snow reaches up to your midriff."

"That happens, I'm staying indoors with the cats." Bodhi says flatly. "Oh stars! I left my pots outside. I was so distracted playing with you and Kyber."

"Your plants?" Galen says. "Don't worry, you run the bath, I'll go and get them."

He's already stepping back into his boots.

"You run the bath. Won't be a minute!"

Bodhi is about to argue but he knows there's no stopping Galen. And he really doesn't want to put his own boots back on.

"I don't deserve you." He makes sure to put some caf on so it's hot went Galen returns.

Galen returns about eight minutes later, laden with all the flower pots, trailing snow into the room.

"Where you you want them?" he asks. "Balcony?"

"Kitchen window shelf." Bodhi calls back from the bathroom. There's a mug of caf waiting for Galen on the bench.

He pops his head out, dressed in only a robe. "My hero." he comes over to dust snow from Galen's hair. "Thank you."

Galen starts distributing the pots, making sure each has enough space and will catch some light.

He interrupts himself, though, to sip some caf, and bend his head to kiss the side of Bodhi's neck.

Bodhi hums happily and slides his hands under Galen's sweater. His fingers are still a little cold as they move up Galen's chest to free him from his clothes. "You, me, bath now."

"Oh yes!" Galen purrs. "Excellent idea!"

Bodhi pulls Galen close and kisses him before dumping his sweater and shirt on the floor.

The bath steams, mixed with a couple of drops of a wood oil. The scent of their kiss behind the piles of lumber in Bodhi's shuttle.

Galen smiles, and stretches, and looks at Bodhi with gratitude. "Where did you find the oils?"

Bodhi runs his hands lazily over Galen's chest, scratching the thatch of grey blonde hair. "I asked the bar. It took a few goes to find just the right one but as soon as I smelt it, I knew."

He reaches for Galen's pants, stealing another kiss. "We would have been in so much danger if we'd been caught. But I didn't care. I just wanted to kiss you."

"We would always have been in danger," Galen says, sensibly. "But kissing you was always worth it."

Bodhi smiles between kisses, loving and unhurried and he pushes Galen's pants down, hand resting over the scar on Galen's side.

"You're worth it. Worth all of it."

[galen_erso]

Galen runs his hands over Bodhi's back in answer, caressing scars and smooth skin alike. "I have been so lucky, in the end."

"We both have. To have this." he kisses Galen sweetly. "The cats, and water enough to waste."

He steps back and lets the robe fall away, stepping into the steaming bath and beckoning Galen to follow.

"And the chance to get married," Galen adds, following into the tub and going down with a splash and a deep, pleased sigh.
