With the time of cherry blossoms coming up, Bodhi's been spending lots of time in the kitchen lately. Mostly when Galen has been out of their rooms and distracted with other things. He's been rather secretive about it. Up to and including getting their parrot droid Ester to keep an eye on Galen.

But now it's ready and just in time.

He wakes Galen in the morning with a kiss, shifting carefully so he doesn't dislodge the cats. "Happy anniversary, my love."

"The darkness is over," Galen agrees. "We now merely need to deal with the day."

Bodhi turns and hugs Galen deeply, careful not to displace Myrrh. There's so much relief in that that hug. So much happiness.

[galen_erso]

"And while the day holds challenges," Galen says, pulling Bodhi into his lap despite the breakfast table, "like new technology, week-long curses, and sudden politics, we can deal with them, and we get to deal with them together."

"No Empire. No Krennic. No threat of death at every turn." Bodhi shrugs and kisses Galen again before moving to pour the tart sauce over his pancakes. "I'll take Milliways and it's randomness any day. As long as it means I get to be with you."

"No Krennic," Galen agrees. "No people-as-cogs. Freedom."

Pause.

"What is the sauce?"

[imthepilot]

"Lemon and blood orange reduction. Try it. It goes well with the dark brown sugar." He offers Galen the jug.

[galen_erso]

Galen takes it, drizzles it on the pancakes, and begins to eat.

"Blood orange?" he asks, never heaving heard the term. "It tastes wonderful."

[imthepilot]

"They're like normal oranges but tarter and with a dark red juice. I like it. It works well with the lemon."

[galen_erso]

"It does," Galen says, taking another forkful of the pancakes with the sauce.

[imthepilot]

"The bar helped me plan. She's been offering me things to try and experiment with." Bodhi grins. He's been plotting this for weeks.

[galen_erso]

"She's so much more than just a droid that serves food," Galen muses.

[imthepilot]

"I really don't know what she is." Bodhi muses. "Only that she does her best to look after the people in her care." Myrrh headbutts Bodhi's leg and purrs. "Yes, you are too, my friend."

[galen_erso]

"And she is very good at this," Galen says, reaching out to pet Myrrh's ears.

Kyber, not to miss out, comes bounding up. Jumping up onto the table and nearly knocks over Galen's caf, he chirps at them, demanding love.

"Hey, you!" Galen says, picking up his cup to save it before reaching over to pet Kyber's ears. "You're a bit rambunctious today."

Not just today. Kyber has grown into a rather energetic cat.

"I think he's been playing with the forge cats again. His sister is a bad influence. As all good sisters should be."

[galen_erso]

"Yes, Nahts likes to hunt and tease people," Galen says, grinning.

[imthepilot]

Bodhi kisses the top of Kyber's head before carefully lifting the cat down onto the floor.

"Is there anything you want to do today? I know I have plans but it's your day too."

[galen_erso]

"Cherryblossoms," Galen says. "Something involving the trees and the place."

[imthepilot]

"I was thinking a picnic. Maybe taking take a small tent with us and stay out overnight. If the weather stays fine."

[galen_erso]

"We could even stay out under the stars, given some warm enough blankets," Galen muses. "And yes, I like the idea."

[imthepilot]

"It is very nice outside." Bodhi grins, reaching across to take Galen's hand. "Lets do it."

[galen_erso]

Galen looks into his eyes, and then grins. "Often, and with vigour," he agrees.

[imthepilot]

Bodhi laughs, leaning over to kiss Galen. "Incorrigible. Shower after breakfast?"

[galen_erso]

"Yes! But first, let's properly appreciate this."
