Galen gets a message late one evening. The evening Bodhi was planning to spent down in the barracks with the other cargo crews.

The message from the head medic. You better get down here.

Bodhi fucks him hard and fast, chasing the high for both of them. "Galen!" He screams his lover's name, carelessly loud.

"Bodhi!" Galen says, legs closing around Bodhi as his whole body tenses up from the imminent orgasm.

Bodhi shudders, moaning Galen's name as he cums. He clings to Galen, holding him tight. "Stars, Galen!"

Galen arches his back, heat splattering between them as he soon follows suit.

Bodhi lowers Galen's legs and leans in to kiss him, breathless and thrilled. Stars, Galen couldn't look more perfect.

Galen pulls him in for the kisses, eyes wide and unfocused, utterly spent.

"I love you so much," he murmurs.

Bodhi smiles and looks Galen's blown and beautiful eyes, stroking his cheek. "My Galen."

He gently pulls out and lays at Galen's side, holding him close. Just... holding him. Relishing this.

"One day, we will always have this whenever we want," Galen says. "You and me. Free."

The thought makes Bodhi smile, stroking Galen's cheek. "Yes. In a place of our own. Somewhere far away."

"Doing our own work, and closing our doors when we want to," Galen agrees.

[imthepilot]

"You could work on the clean energy research you talked about." Bodhi smiles, "And I can run a little cafe or something."

[galen_erso]

"Feeding the people who work with me, to begin with," Galen says, sleepily. "Thinking is hungry work."

[imthepilot]

"You want me to run a canteen for your scientists?" He asks, a teasing eyebrow raised.

[galen_erso]

"More like a café nearby," Galen says. "So I can go see you when I take a break. So I will take breaks. Which doesn't always happen with scientists in full discovery mode."

[imthepilot]

"So maybe I'll have to bring orders to you, to your team. Just to make sure you eat." Bodhi rests his head on Galen's shoulder. "I like that sound of that."

[galen_erso]

"I am sure that would help," Galen says, stroking Bodhi's hair. "You might have to try out ovens running on kyber, though. Or other weird inventions."

[imthepilot]

"A café full of strange creations and little proofs of concept." Bodhi chuckles. "Yes, I'd like that."

[galen_erso]

Galen turns his head to kiss Bodhi's cheekbone, right beside his eye.

"It won't be just us, of course," Galen says. "Wherever we end up, wherever I may do my work, it won't be as forsaken and lonely as here. If we are lucky, we even get real weather. You know, the kind that changes."

[imthepilot]

"Somewhere beautiful. Somewhere with sun and rain." He snuggles close, tangling his fingers in Galen's. "We'll find somewhere. Together."

"There are so many planets out there," Galen agrees. "Places with actual seasons, and varied landscape, and different cultures meeting."

[imthepilot]

"Then we'll find the right one." Even if they have to move around a bit before they find somewhere safe.

He leans in to kiss Galen deeply and warmly.

[galen_erso]

"We will," Galen says. "It's a big galaxy, so of course there will be a niche for us somewhere. And we can keep looking. You're a pilot."

[imthepilot]

Bodhi nuzzles close and kisses Galen's throat. "We'll find our niche. And if not, we'll make it."

[galen_erso]

Galen leans back his head and sighs happily. "Find a place, make a niche."

[imthepilot]

"And live free." Bodhi finishes, closing his eyes contentedly.
